On Tuesday, October 1st, Iran launched a massive barrage of approximately 180 rockets at Israeli population centers. The indiscriminate bombardment forced millions of civilians into bomb shelters across the country and was designed to cause as much fear and damage as possible. Even more insidious, this attack took place as many Israeli Jews were beginning preparations for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
It is vital that we stand with the people of Israel as they defend themselves from the threat of Iran and its many proxies, including Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis. Iran’s destabilizing actions have threatened Israelis and Americans for years, and this attack is a serious escalation. Jewish Federations of North America stand firmly with our allies, our friends and families in Israel, and against the Iranian regime.
We also stand as proud Americans, deeply appreciative for the US military’s help in beating back this attack and defending the people of Israel. It is crucial that the US continues to stand with our ally Israel against Iranian sponsored terror. Please reach out to your elected officials and urge them to publicly reaffirm their support for Israel and her right to defend herself.
We are counting on you to help build broad bipartisan support for Israel as they defend themselves from terror.
