Tell your senators and representatives to support these critical items to support nonprofit service providers and all who are in need:

• PROVIDE much more general fiscal relief and economic stabilization funds to states and localities to help them rebound from the pandemic.

• INCREASE federal Medicaid support by an additional 7.8 percentage points, for a total of 14 percent.

• IMPROVE the Paycheck Protection Program provision to enable all nonprofit applicants to receive a second round of funding if they have experienced at least a 10% reduction in revenue and provide blanket forgiveness for all PPP loans under $250,000;

• FULLY FUND COVID-19-related unemployment insurance costs for nonprofits that self-insure.

• BUILD ON the expansion of charitable incentives included in the CARES Act by significantly increasing the deductible amount for the above-the-line charitable tax deduction for those who do not itemize their tax deductions.

• EXPAND both the minimum and maximum benefits for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Subject: Provide Lifelines to Nonprofits and Those in Need in Next Stimulus

Message:

Thank you for your leadership in passing the prior stimulus packages which have boosted the economy and supported many who are in need. I am contacting you now as a constituent and member of the Jewish community who is deeply concerned about the deepening crisis in America resulting from the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. This is a critical time, with millions of Americans out of work, and millions hungry and in need of health care. As you consider the next federal stimulus package, I urge you to include the following priorities: Support much more federal fiscal relief to subsidize health and human services and help states and localities rebound economically from the pandemic Increase the Medicaid Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) rate by a total of 14%, ensuring that our health partners have the critical resources to support higher COVID-19 health staffing costs; Allow all nonprofit applicants that have experienced a 10% reduction in revenue to receive a second round of Paycheck Protection Program funding that will subsidize payroll and other expenses and provide blanket forgiveness for PPP loans under $250,000; Increase Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for those suffering from food insecurity; Fully fund the unemployment insurance costs for nonprofits that self-insure; and expand the charitable tax incentives included in the CARES Act. Collectively these measures will allow us to support the basic needs of the most vulnerable in our communities, who are desperately trying to survive this public health and economic crisis. Thank you for your attention to these critical matters.
