On March 29th, while reporting in Russia, Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich was arrested by Russian security services and charged with espionage. The U.S. State Department has designated Evan, the son of a Jewish family that left the Soviet Union as refugees, as "wrongfully detained."
For our community, this is personal. Jewish Federations rallied nearly 500 members of our community this week in support of Evan and are urging our leaders in Washington to act quickly and use all the tools at their disposal to bring Evan home safely.
On May 10th, a bipartisan group in the House of Representatives introduced a resolution calling for the release of Evan Gershkovich. Use the form below to write to your member of Congress and urge them to support this resolution and send a clear message that Evan must be released!
